The City of Pocatello partnered with the State of Idaho to obtain a Federal Bridge Bundle Grant to reconstruct eight bridges within the State of Idaho. Carson Street Bridge is one of those bridges.
The cost of reconstructing Carson Street Bridge is approximately $1.4 million, with the City being responsible for $140,329 in funding match.
The Carson Street Bridge will completely replace the existing bridge and redo the utilities that utilize the existing bridge.
Representing the State of Idaho is Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC). They retained the services of Keller Engineers, who is fast-tracking the design process. The engineering design is scheduled to be completed by July 2021. We can expect construction to begin in Spring 2022.
