The contractor is putting the finishing touches on the this trail project. They will be placing stone path markers, installing bike counters, and dog waste receptacles this week. The paving is complete and the picnic tables, bike racks, and shelters have been installed. Later this fall there will be some hydroseed work done on the slopes. The ribbon cutting will be on September 11 at 5:15 p.m. at the Monte Vista end of the trail.
The City portion of this trail is a little over ½ mile long. It would have ended at the last picnic shelter (shown above) but Farm Bureau stepped up and continued the trail on their land making it about a mile in length. The Farm Bureau connection trail allows users to enjoy a hard surface from Monte Vista Drive to Tierra Drive. It’s great when we can work together for a successful project!
