7th and Sherman Bus Stop Project

This project is funded by an Idaho Transportation Department Elderly & Disabled Grant of $200,000 with a local match of $50,000. This program aims to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation service and expanding transportation mobility options. The Elderly & Disabled Program supports transportation services planned, designed, and carried out to meet the special transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Design will be complete by the City of Pocatello Engineering Department.

The 7th and Sherman Bus Stop Project will improve access to the transit bus stop that serves the federal courthouse, City Hall, continuing education facilities, and other public facilities and services, by providing ADA-compliant curb cuts, sidewalks, and crosswalks. The project also includes a passenger shelter, a digital sign with “next bus” information, and security lighting.

This project has been awarded to Harper Construction and will begin on June 11, 2018. It is anticipated to be completed in mid-August 2018.
